Our class will be learning about the Polynesian culture.  One of our students has family from Hawaii.  It is also the culture President Obama grew up around, in Hawaii.

About the Teacher

I was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, into a Marine Corps. family.  I also served in the Marine Corps., after high school.  I live in Aldan, Pennsylvania.  I attended Delaware County Community College, where I earned two Associate Degrees in Liberal Arts and Journalism.  I received my BA in Elementary Education at Neumann College, where I also received a MS in Educational Leadership.  I am certified in Elementary Education and Special Education, in Pennsylvania & Delaware.  I am presently attending Wilmington University for a second Masters Degree.  My students enjoy the fact that I also have regular homework!!!  I taught at St. Katharine Drexel School, in Chester, PA, for close to ten years, before coming to Delaware to teach.  I have also taught in Colonial School District.  I LOVE being a teacher, & cannot imagine doing anything else!!

In my spare time, I enjoy my family (cats included!!!), going to the beach, and playing games on my computer.  I am also a HUGE sports fan....Philadelphia teams, of course!!!!

Projects

We are presently working on a class project centering on Biographies.  Our Third Annual Fourth Grade Wax Museum will be held on Friday, May 7th, where we will share what we have learned about our historical person.  More information to follow.
