About the Teacher

Live, Love, Laugh

this is the motto I live by.  My name is April Johnson, and my desire to teach began when I was in 6th grade.  I had a teacher who wasn't afraid to try new and inventive ways to approach learning.

In undergrad, I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Socology and minored in Elementary Education.  After graduting, I worked as a Summer Camp Counselor, Child Care Kindergarten Teacher and Social Worker.  Once I had an opportunity to explore my career choices, I decided to return to school and follow my dream; education.  I began my Master's Degree in Elementary Education when I received an opportunity to join the Family Foundations Team.  I began as the Before and After Care Director and in 2009 i received the opportunity to teach.

As a first year teacher I have learned that with love and time children are capable to acheiving greatness.  And with the love and support of my kids, husband and family I can acheive greatness
